Un titre à décrypter !

Chicks est un mot familier pour désigner les femmes ;

Ktog : pour "Knitting Together"

    Vous l'avez compris : des dames de Carrollton se réunissent chaque mardi matin au Coffee Shop pour tricoter. Plaisir d'être ensemble bien entendu et de passer un agréable moment mais aussi de partager ses connaissances et d'aider les nouvelles venues à démarrer.

    Certaines participantes préfèrent le crochet pour réaliser de grands travaux (dessus de lit, nappe..).

   D'autres projets : chapeaux, moufles, châles. La liberté est totale quant au choix du projet et  à son exécution...

et celle de travailler pour des projets caritatifs. Les créations ne sont pas conservées mais données.

Denise nous présente le groupe et ses  activités :

    "We are a very civic minded group.  We all have our own charities/causes that we work with.  We decided to choose 3 groups that are near and dear to our hearts.  There are other organizations in town that knit/crochet for the hospital and for cancer patients.  We wanted to help in other areas.  The military always needs things for soldiers and it seems that they are forgotten sometimes because they are overseas.  The homeless and hospice also are always in need and the items that are given are truly appreciated by the recipient.  All the items that we make are distributed directly to the charity.  We mail our projects to Angels for Soldiers who in turn distribute to the soldiers.  Two of our members volunteer for Hospice and they distribute items to nursing homes that they visit.  We distribute our items to the Homeless through a local group who helps address the many needs of the homeless. We chose these projects for 2011.  I don't know if that will change or not.  We are such a relatively new group and are still "finding" our way."
